When using an app on your phone to transfer coins and access cryptocurrencies, it is very important to have a good security setup. Below are some tips to keep your account safe.
1. Make sure you enable Two-factor Authentication (2FA) in the settings of your Celsius app.
It is recommended to have your 2FA app on a different device than the one with your Celsius app on it. Otherwise, a thief could steal your phone and access your 2FA codes through your phone. If you don't have another device to install your 2FA app on, you could use the app "Authy" instead of "Google Authenticator" and set a PIN. This way, a thief would have to know your 6 digit PIN for Authy to gain access to the 2FA codes. If you also set a lock-screen PIN on the phone itself, that's double security.
2. Make sure you set up 2FA on your email account.
It is recommended to enable 2FA on your email account as well. Most email providers let you enable 2FA in the settings of your account. This way, even if someone gains access to your email address and password, they cannot log in to your email account as they won't have the 2FA codes.
3. Make sure you set withdrawal addresses for all the coins you hold.
It is recommended to set withdrawal addresses for each of the coins in your account, as it takes 24 hours and an email confirmation to change a withdrawal address once it's set. This essentially puts a 24 hour window on withdrawals to new addresses, which gives you enough time to contact us and suspend your account if you notice any suspicious activity.
Please set your withdrawal addresses to a personal and re-usable account address so you won't have to change it each time you need to send coins somewhere. You can just withdraw them to your withdrawal address and then send them to any other account from there. There are no withdrawal fees from your Celsius account.
