Why is Celsius implementing transaction fees?
Transaction fees are inherent to the blockchain. Celsius is introducing them to cover the cost of processing your transactions.
How are fees calculated?
Fees are established based on historical costs and will be reviewed and potentially adjusted based on market fluctuations. Different assets have different fees due to varying processing costs.
How will transaction fees be charged?
Transaction fees are charged in kind, and the current fee for the specific coin can be viewed during the withdrawal process. If you do not have enough assets to cover the associated transaction fees, you will be unable to withdraw assets from the platform.
Where can I see the current fees for each coin?
You can view the current fees for each coin during the withdrawal process. Please see below table for the current in-kind fees.
How often are fees changed, and will users be notified?
Fees are subject to change based on changing market conditions, and users may not be notified prior to changes being made. However, as mentioned previously, you will always see the current fee in the app (mobile or web) during the withdrawal process.
Will the Dollar value display differently from the court filing?
Celsius sets the in-kind transaction fee on a monthly basis, but due to the volatility of the crypto market, we will review the fee on a more frequent basis (at minimum, weekly) and update it if the conversion rate changes by +/- 20%.
